Ikea Owns Verdana

I love Verdana on screen, but I usually don’t recommend people use it on documents that will be printed. The designers of the Ikea 2010 catalog have convinced me otherwise on that front. The meticulously crafted typesetting creates a fresh, clean look with just enough quirkiness and Ikea-like budget-mindedness. They obviously spent more money on the photography than the typeface budget. It just goes to show how a good designer can take anything a long way.
